The Bones of the Home

What’s behind the walls in your home is critically important to me. The mechanical aspects must be perfect. These are the “boring things” most homeowners might not notice (until there’s a problem!) When the bones aren’t right, it won’t impact the design of the home’s style. However, it can cost you dearly down the road with expensive and disruptive fixes!

Here are the top 6 areas that make up the Bones of your home:

  • Plumbing - Every consideration of water use needs to be factored in your plumbing. It’s critical to match the exact specifications for amenities. For example, extra volume and drainage is needed to accommodate the larger multi-faucet showers frequently requested.

  • Electrical - With the increased use and accessibility of technology bringing electrical and digital access to all areas of our homes, I only use seasoned pro subcontractors who I trust 100% to be the very best!

  • HVAC - The envelope of your home must be very tight to create efficient use of energy - heat and air. If not done correctly you could see very high utility bills or have costly problems such as pests or mold.

  • Low-E (low-emissivity) - An energy-efficient package that is customized for your floor plan and build will save you money in the long run and keep your family comfortable in all seasons.

  • Door package - More than just a gorgeous entrance - from energy efficiency to the quality of workmanship, your front door makes a strong first impression. It’s a critical matter of both beauty and safety.

  • Attic bracing - With the visual “bones” of your home, your attic bracing must match. It’s a big deal for me if my walk-in attics aren’t perfectly symmetrical.

When you look at homes, pay close attention to the details - even those you don’t readily see! I have a team I’ve used for a very long time and they’re highly skilled at making sure your homes are efficient and safe for your family. My subcontractors are the best in the industry! I know my homes are built correctly because I was there when they did it!
